  • headcall enterprise gateway type II functions like a traditional PBX and is designed to substitute for a traditional PBX. it connects the PSTN lines to a headcall voip system with headcall netphones or other headcall terminals as its virtual extensions.

  • a regular phone call originating from a traditional PSTN with a headcall terminal as its destination will first reach the gateway type II, and the call is then forwarded to its destination which is actually one of the virtual extensions behind the gateway. to the originating caller, the headcall enterprise gateway type II is a traditional PBX.

  • a calls originating from a headcall terminal will receive a voice prompt from the gateway, which is then followed by the caller entering a desired extension number to complete the connection. the connection can also be directly completed by the caller's entering * from his headcall terminal. in either manner, to the originating headcall terminal, the gateway type II is a traditional PBX. furthermore, these virtual extensions can also be connected directly from a headcall terminal as they are all headcall terminals.

  • for calls in the reverse direction, a user on a virtual extension needs to go through the gateway type II by first dialing its number or a shortcut number and then the PSTN number. this can be accomplished with a voice prompt from the gateway or in a single dialing sequence as 80083012345*87654321 or 9*87654321 for shortcut.

  • these virtual extensions have a headcall number and a separate gateway extension number, all with worldwide portability.

  • there are two models of type II gateways, 4-port and 8-port, both of which are cascadable to fit the needs of a small- or medium-size enterprise. a 30-line digital gateway is also available for use by large enterprises.
